The system will only play original Wii games, not Wii U games. Something is wrong with the Blue Ray player. The system uses two different reading mechanisms for the Wii and Wii U games (and again, the Wii U Blue Ray isn't working) Wii games have been tested and work.
I'm not including the Wii U gamepad which is pointless to use since the Wii U games don't work...functionally you are getting an original Nintendo Wii, not a Wii U. Wii remotes have also been tested.
