Job Summary
Premier Compaction Systems is seeking a skilled and dependable AWS Certified Welder to join our growing team. This role involves both shop-based fabrication and field repairs of trash compactors and related waste equipment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-focused, and comfortable working independently as well as with a team.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform welding and fabrication on trash compactors, containers, and related equipment
• Repair and rebuild compactors, dumpsters, and waste-handling equipment
• Diagnose structural and mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs
• Weld using MIG, Stick, and Flux-Core processes (as applicable)
• Cut, grind, and prepare metal using torches, plasma cutters, and power tools
• Perform on-site service and repair work when required
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Follow OSHA and company safety standards at all times
Required Qualifications
• Valid AWS Welding Certification (D1.1 or equivalent preferred)
• Proven experience as a welder, preferably in heavy equipment or industrial fabrication
• Experience repairing or working with trash compactors, dumpsters, or similar equipment (preferred but not required)
• Ability to weld carbon steel in various positions
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in industrial environments
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites
Preferred Skills
• Hydraulic or electrical repair experience
• Fabrication experience with heavy-gauge steel
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
