About the role
Garden State Laboratories, Inc. is seeking seasonal laboratory technicians to work some weekdays, alternating weekends, and holidays this summer season. The season starts with paid training in April and runs through Labor Day Weekend. The lab technicians will report to the Microbiology Manager in our Main Lab located in Hillside, NJ.
This position requires weekend and holiday work. The shift is generally from 1:30 pm to 7:00 pm on weekdays and from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm on weekends; however, the ending time can vary depending on when the scheduled work has been completed.
Compensation will be $17.00 per hour.
What you'll do
The primary responsibilities of the Summer Microbiology Lab Technician may include preparing media; receiving samples and recording temperatures; logging sample data into the Company’s system; calibrating pH meters and balances; analyzing samples and recording results; and performing routine laboratory maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
No prior experience is required, but successful candidates should possess a high school degree or equivalent experience; have general computer skills; have previous work experience that required detailed tasks; and have some background (education or work) in the sciences. Prior laboratory experience is a plus.
