These sell for big $$ if one of the specialty colors, several were available, but mine has paint wear and so is of somewhat lesser value. SEE PHOTOS. Bellows are good and flexible, not stiff. Shutter fires correctly, focus turns well. Purchased at an Estate Sale, first owner was an American GI stationed in Europe in the late 1940's and purchased it there and carried home around 1950.
The Kinax II is a folding camera for type No. 620 roll film, made by Kinax in Paris from 1946 to 1950. Several variants were made. It is a folder with a self-erecting bellows. Many have a Berthiot Flor 1:4.5 F=105mm lens and an IPO shutter with self-timer, with speeds 1, 1/2, 1/5, 1/10, 1/25, 1/50, 1/150 and 1/350 sec. plus B mode and with a diaphragm that's stoppable down to f/32. The lens is focusable from 1.75 m to infinity by turning the front lens element. It has a collapsible reverse Galilean finder In the camera back is a closable red film advance control window. Characteristic elements on top are the viewfinder ocular in a collapsed finder, and the two big metal buttons, one the unfolding button and the other the shutter release. The film advance key is positioned on the bottom, as well as the tripod thread.
