The cover scene is stale. Everyone does the same thing the same way. Are you interested in doing it differently? Are you interested in doing a dark, melodic version of Pink Pony Club, a bangin' version of Hollywood Baby, a slammin' 1979, a 4 on the floor fist pumpin' Where the Streets have No Name? I'm talking about a band that looks at every song and says, how can we do it our way instead of playing an effin' solo note for note. Anyone can do that with time. Who wants to be creative and set yourselves apart, not by doing B sides but by doing A sides but with more energy than the original? Who wants to have some attitude on stage? Who wants to do Dance Monkey and not sound stupid because we crush it? Who wants people to go crazy for the band and have a line out the door like it used to be?
People are tired of the same sh*t. And honestly, so am I. I want, no I DEMAND some instrumentalists and vocalists to join me. Let's do Suck My Kiss into a funk version of Rude by Magic! I want, no I DEMAND to bring this scene back to life and be the reason there are clones of us. I want to be the one to say "You just copy everything I do, if I wasn't me, I'd copy me too!" If you know that song you belong in this band.
And here's the thing, I've tried this before. And people chicken out. They want to play it the safe way. So it fails. Do not be that girlfriend that expects me to change after I commit. I don't play that. This is the only way it will be done. With courage and loyalty to the creative spirit. Each song seen as a broken halo.
If you are out there... find me. I don't care if it's a trio or am 18 piece polyphonic spree bombshell. If you want to set the cover scene on FIRE, let me know.
And hey, it doesn't matter where you live. If you want to make something happen you do what you need to do. I will gladly travel.
Drummer needs to play to a click. If you can't sing, or aren't at least willing to try, don't bother. Real musicians don't just play an instrument.
