Vintage Kent Drum Set with Snare in red sparkle. Wrap is tight, a few scratches here and there but overall in very nice condition.
All original except as noted below.
9x13 tom: Replacement reso head. I have what was originally the batter head, but it's a bit beat up and will be included if you want to use it.
13x14 (diameter) floor tom: 3 replacement tension rods. A good amount of chrome missing from the hoops though not really noticeable from the audience. Rubber feet are new. Only the batter head is original.
14x22 bass drum: One of the original hoops was too deformed for my liking (typical Kent issue), so the batter side hoop is a non-Kent replacement. Both hoops have been repainted. The original hoop (not repainted) will be included.
The original reso head has a bunch of tape marks and was clearly used as a batter at one time before someone cut a hole in it. I decided not to use it, but it too will be included in the sale. New rubber feet on the spurs.
5x14 snare: Replacement batter hoop, and it looks to me like the badge and grommet have been replaced with reproductions. The long lever of the throw off is missing, but it works perfectly well with the short part only. It holds in place with no worries. The 12 strand snares are original but I'm not sure about the snare cords.
Heads are not Kent.
Snare stand is NOT included nor is it for sale.
Original straight cymbal holder: Wing nut is a replacement, no felt or sleeve.
The interiors of the drums all have the messy glue job that is also typically Kent.
The kit is a blast to play - the bass drum sounds huge and there's plenty of separation between the toms. I've got them tuned a 4th apart and they sound great. The key rod set screws lock everything tight into place, and there's no choking on the rack tom. Honestly, this kit really surprised me sound-wise. Love it.
My one and only complaint about the kit is that the spurs are short and don't give much lift, but they are original and factory issue. They are 3/8" or 9.5mm in diameter if you want pick up a longer pair (Ahead makes a pair with threaded, retractable rubber feet) or you can cut a pair out of steel stock.
Beautiful kit, very hard to photograph. Must see and hear in person.
