Very Rare Vintage Rogers Brass Timbales 1969/1970

All original hardware including hex rod for mounting cowbell and additional percussion.

I bought these from a successful Bay Area percussionist in 1973. The brass version of these timbales are very rare and considered collectable. I believe I am the 2nd or 3rd owner only. I stopped playing them in 1988 and they have been stored in my attic since then.

These come complete with the original tiltable double braced adjustable stand and hex rod for mounting additional percussion.

The drum sizing is:
13" x 6.5" and 14" x 6.5.

All other original hardware, lugs and claws are in very good condition.

Rims and hoops are original and have seen their fair share of playing. They are not warped. No bends or cracks in either shell. Inside both is almost pristine. Btw, it appears the heads have never been replaced. I know I never did it.

With a little TLC, these would be considered excellent. I will leave this to the next owner. The best way to clean them up is buying a buffing kit for drill at Home Depot or Lowes. It comes with 3 pads and 3 buffing paste sticks. Once buffed from side to side, the shine starts to appear. They will come out like new.

These timbales have an amazing warm sound that only aged brass can produce while still being sharp and forceful.

Thanks for looking and please let me know if you have any questions or want to see more pics.
