Personal Injury Paralegal

Job Description
KASSEM & ASSOCIATES, P.C., a fast-growing personal injury law firm, is looking to hire a full-time Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal to join our fast-paced practice. Primary responsibilities will be to handle auto accident negligence cases from intake through arbitrations and trials. This includes initial intake, client relationship and case management, medical records and the demand package process, and preparing pleadings, motions, and litigation related documents. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Paralegal in Personal Injury Law. The ideal candidate has the ability to multi-task, work effectively with a team, and is tech savvy.

About You
• Minimum 3 years of personal injury/litigation experience
• Experience in personal injury litigation matters
• Excellent legal research, written, and verbal communication skills
• A self-initiator who is invested in the success of the firm as a whole
• A desire and aptitude to actively foster growth and development among all staff
• Knowledge of Needles Case Management Software strongly preferred.
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Able to handle and oversee a heavy caseload
• Spanish speaking/writing skill is a Plus

Job Responsibilities and Duties
• Tort - Personal Injury
• State and Local Court Rules (Superior and District Courts)
• E-filing with Superior and Federal Court
• Managing personal injury cases
• Interviewing clients about their injuries
• Gathering medical reports
• Getting insurance information from the defendant
• Assisting in preparing settlement demands
• Conduct intake meetings with new clients
• Handle client requests and demands
• Draft pleadings, written discovery, motions, and briefs
• Coordinate and scheduling depositions, arbitrations and mediations with counsel
• Contacting and scheduling expert witnesses for depositions and/or trials
• Preparing additional pleadings, including but not limited to: witness statements, motions/orders, and Prehearing Statement of Proof
• Scheduling and coordinating, via email or telephone communication meetings with clients, Courts, attorneys’ offices, insurance companies, and experts
• Maintaining and scheduling appointments, hearings, depositions, trials, arbitrations on attorney calendar
• Keeping all case filing up to date for each client’s file
