SUMMARY
Skilled Mechanical Assembler position focused on Overhaul and Repair in a union environment. Work independently to assemble, test, and finish complex mechanical components following drawings and established standards. Emphasis on precision, quality, and problem-solving using a variety of shop tools and equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assemble, fit, and test mechanical subassemblies and completed units using engineering blueprints.
- Set up workstations and perform all operations following documented methods and procedures.
- Conduct inspections, troubleshoot issues, and apply corrective measures to meet specifications.
- Use hand tools, precision measuring instruments (gauges, calipers, scales), and paint spray equipment as required.
- Safely handle, lift, and position parts or equipment weighing up to 85 lbs.
- Maintain records, contribute to process improvement, and uphold all safety and housekeeping standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong ability to interpret and build from mechanical drawings and blueprints.
- Demonstrated mechanical assembly experience with set-up and inspection skills.
- Familiarity with precision measurement tools and finishing operations.
- Ability to identify and resolve mechanical or assembly issues with minimal supervision.
- Capable of consistent heavy lifting (up to 85 lbs).
- Experience in mechanical repair or overhaul work preferred.
- Comfortable working in a unionized environment.
