The Inventory/Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing electrical warehouse operations, inventory control, material handling, purchasing coordination for an electrical contracting company. This position ensures that electricians and project managers have the right materials and supplies, when needed while maintaining accurate inventory records, minimizing waste, and promoting a safe, clean, organized warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
Inventory Management
• Maintain accurate inventory levels of electrical materials, tools, equipment, and consumables.
• Perform routine cycle counts and annual physical inventories.
• Monitor inventory turnover and establish minimum/maximum stock levels.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Track material usage and identify opportunities to reduce waste and excess inventory.
Warehouse Operations
• Manage daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, staging, and preparing for shipping.
• Organize warehouse for efficiency, cleanliness, and safety.
• Ensure proper storage of electrical materials and equipment.
• Coordinate loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
Purchasing & Material Coordination
• Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and field supervisors to forecast material requirements.
• Prepare purchase requests and coordinate with purchasing personnel or vendors.
• Verify deliveries for quantity, quality, and accuracy.
• Resolve vendor shortages, damaged shipments, and returns.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
Jobsite Support
• Stage and prepare materials for upcoming projects.
• Process returned materials and restock usable inventory.
• Assist with emergency material requests to minimize project downtime.
Documentation & Systems
• Maintain accurate inventory records using excel spreadsheets.
• Process receiving documents, packing slips, and delivery tickets.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 5+ years of warehouse or inventory management experience.
• Experience in the electrical construction or electrical supply industry.
• Knowledge of electrical materials, conduit, wire, fittings, switchgear, lighting, and related products.
• Proficiency with inventory management and Microsoft Office software.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment.
• Stand, walk, bend, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
• Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
