———————————————
Dear, Paterson citizens.
My name is Thomas Cho and, as a counseling psychologist, I have been counselor training public school teachers in Kenya and Uganda since 2016.
I am glad to announce that I (and a team of Paterson citizens) will be offering free (of cost) citizens support group service at Danforth Memorial Library between November, 2025 and January, 2026 (approximately, 10 weeks). The first group session will be held on November 7, 2025.
The group’s work consists of 2 elements:
1) Psychoeducation
We will discuss different aspects of the basic counseling psychology
theory. Its aim is to help you deal affectively with painful memories
(that cause emotional pain when recalled).
2) Philosophical education
We will discuss ideas and idea-systems of the Ancient Greek philosophers.
Its aim is to help you a) analyze a (current) problem in your life and, in
the process, b) gain self/world knowledge.
The group meets weekly on Friday in Teen Room (on the main floor) between 9AM
and 12PM. It’s an open group: you may join/quit at any time.
You must be 18 years old (or older) to attend the group.
