Selling this framed paper shopping bag from 1966 from an Andy Warhol exhibition at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, October 1-November 6, 1966.

Condition:
Hinged top and bottom verso to back mat, timestain, creasing, unobtrusive rubbing and minor soiling, some small or tiny spots of discoloration, a few short tears at left edge (longest 7/16 inch), a 1/4 inch tear at bottom edge, a small area with a three small pressure marks with associated light abrasion top right edge. The frame is period-correct, with a few light surface abrasions. I took this to my framer and replaced the front acrylic with conservation matte plexi, and redid the back taping.
This is almost 60 years old. It exemplifies Warhol's vision of taking everyday disposable household items and glorifying them as art.
