Lead Line Chef – Chef-Driven American Cuisine

We’re looking for a Lead Line Chef to join our busy, chef-driven restaurant in Madison, NJ. This is a great opportunity for a strong sous chef or seasoned line cook who’s ready to step into more responsibility and play a key role in daily kitchen operations.
Our kitchen is focused on modern American cuisine, high standards, and thoughtful execution. We value leadership, consistency, and pride in the craft.
What You’ll Do
In addition to cooking at a high level during service, this role includes leadership and operational responsibilities such as:
Leading the line during service and setting the pace and tone
Inventory management and ordering
Assisting with staff scheduling and labor cost control
Maintaining food quality, consistency, and plating standards
Equipment checks, organization, and basic maintenance oversight
Training and supporting junior cooks
Working closely with the chef to execute menus and improve systems
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in a high-volume, quality-driven kitchen
Strong line skills with leadership instincts
Solid organizational and communication skills
A sense of ownership and accountability
Desire to grow professionally and take on more responsibility
Calm, focused presence during busy services
