Looking for a motivated, energetic, and dependable Assistant Restaurant Manager to help oversee the daily operations of our restaurant. This position supports the Operations Manager by ensuring smooth Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) operations while delivering outstanding customer service and maintaining the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, and hospitality.
This is a hands-on leadership role. We are looking for someone who leads by example, motivates the team, and is willing to work alongside staff to ensure every shift is successful.
Position Summary
The Assistant Restaurant Manager assists with the day-to-day management of the restaurant, supervises staff during assigned shifts, ensures company policies are followed, and helps create an exceptional dining experience for every guest.
Key Responsibilities
Front of House (FOH)
Supervise daily dining room operations during assigned shifts.
Lead and motivate, cashiers and support staff.
Ensure every guest receives exceptional customer service.
Address and resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally.
Conduct shift meetings and communicate daily goals.
Monitor employee appearance, attendance, and professionalism.
Ensure dining areas remain clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Assist with opening and closing procedures.
Monitor online and takeout orders to ensure accuracy and timely service.
Encourage upselling and enhance the guest experience.
Back of House (BOH)
Support kitchen operations to ensure efficient food production.
Monitor food quality, consistency, and presentation.
Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are followed.
Assist with kitchen organization and cleanliness.
Communicate effectively between the kitchen and dining room.
Help reduce food waste and maintain portion control.
Ensure prep work is completed before service.
Staff Leadership
Assist with training and onboarding new employees.
Coach team members to improve performance.
Help create weekly staff schedules.
Monitor attendance and punctuality.
Support employee development and teamwork.
Assist with performance evaluations when needed.
Promote a positive, respectful, and productive work environment.
Operations
Ensure opening, shift, and closing checklists are completed.
Monitor inventory levels and notify management of shortages.
Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries.
Help maintain restaurant equipment and report maintenance issues.
Ensure compliance with company policies and health department regulations.
Step into any position as needed to support restaurant operations.
Administrative Responsibilities
Assist with cash handling and register reconciliation.
Complete daily shift reports.
Monitor labor and productivity during assigned shifts.
Assist with inventory counts and ordering.
Maintain accurate operational records.
Support catering orders and special events.
Qualifications
Minimum 2–3 years of restaurant leadership or supervisory experience.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Excellent customer service and conflict resolution abilities.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of restaurant operations, food safety, and sanitation.
Experience with POS systems.
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Reliable transportation.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous Assistant Manager experience in a full-service restaurant.
ServSafe Certification (preferred or willingness to obtain).
Experience in Caribbean cuisine is a plus.
