A Restaurant Manager oversees daily front- and back-of-house operations, ensuring high-quality food, customer satisfaction, and profitability. Key duties include hiring and training staff, managing inventory, ensuring health and safety compliance, creating schedules, and controlling costs to meet financial goals. They must possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management: Supervising daily shifts, including food service, cleanliness, and safety compliance.
Staff Management: Recruiting, onboarding, scheduling, training, and motivating employees
Customer Service: Greeting customers, addressing complaints, and ensuring high-quality dining experiences.
Financial Control: Managing budgets, tracking inventory, ordering supplies, and optimizing revenue while reducing waste.
Marketing: Implementing promotional activities and ensuring a positive brand image.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Proven experience as a restaurant manager or in a similar role.
Strong knowledge of restaurant management software (POS systems).
Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
Knowledge of health, safety, and licensing regulations.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage stressful situations.
High school diploma or degree in Hospitality/Business Administration.
