Both speakers were rebuilt 6 years ago. New surrounds on the 12 inch drivers, new 3-way connectors, new crossovers, and new grill cloths. The surrounds and crossovers came from England.
The old crossovers are the weak link with vintage Tannoys. Rather than recap, a better product is available from England. The new crossovers are made by Mainely Tannoy of the UK, which cost $300+ US dollars. All the effort was worth it. The sound is true Tannoy where the midrange and the highs are truly life-like. The speakers are 8 ohm and sound wonderful with both tube or solid state amplification from 20 - 100 watts.
The cabinets are mid 1970's Tannoy Devon cabinets that are very good structurally, but could use a little attention cosmetically.
If you have been shopping for Tannoy 12 inch Gold dual concentric drivers, you know my asking price is very fair. I am essentially selling speakers of true audiophile quality that you can use immediately, and redo the cabinets later, if you choose to do so at all.
