**ADDED BONUS**... a hand-written personalized note - from the person who acquired the autographs & attended this event - indicating that this was a "benefit dinner" at which ... NY Giants head coach (Ray Perkins) ... was "roasted" by some of his players and other celebrities. This benefit appears to have been a fundraiser for "The Valerie Fund" - to help raise money for Cancer Research & Care for children and their families.
... Ray Perkins (November 6, 1941 – December 9, 2020) was an American football player & coach. He coached for 28 years, including a stint as the head coach for the NY Giants (1979-'82). Although he only had one winning season, he helped build the team that his successor, Bill Parcells, won two Super Bowls with (1986 & 1990). Perkins hired future NFL head coaches Parcells, Bill Belichick & Romeo Crennel as young assistants, and was the first NFL coach for future MVP and Hall of Fame linebacker - Lawrence Taylor and future Super Bowl MVP - Phil Simms.

... Phillip Martin Simms (born November 3, 1954) is a former American football quarterback who spent his entire 15-year pro career playing for the NY Giants of the NFL (1979-'93). He was drafted in the 1st round ('79) and was later named MVP of Super Bowl XXI - after he led the Giants to a 39–20 victory over the Denver Broncos and set the record for highest completion percentage in a Super Bowl - completing 22 of 25 passes (88%). He also was named to the Pro Bowl for his performances in the (1985 & 1993) seasons. Simms finished his career with 33,462 passing yards.

He's considered one of the greatest players in the history of American football, and has been ranked as the greatest defensive player in league history by former players, coaches, media members & news outlets such as the NFL Network and Sporting News. In 1999, Taylor was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
