Original concert ticket stub (05-27-1979) ... for a "Robert Gordon" performance @ The Paramount Theatre (Asbury Park, NJ).
*NOTE*... musicians Bruce Springsteen & Gary Talent, both made a guest appearance & joined Robert Gordon for several songs! This event is notable as a performance by Bruce Springsteen outside of his usual performances with the E Street Band, and his collaboration with another artist.
Used ticket stub has several creases ... stub measures approx. (4-1/2" x 2") ... written on back of stub - "Springsteen & The Jukes".
... Robert Gordon (3/29/1947 - 10/18/2022) was an American rockabilly singer & actor. Over his career, Gordon released more than (20) albums and helped usher in a rockabilly resurgence in the (1970s & '80s). Gordon was drawn to rock ‘n’ roll after he heard Elvis Presley’s “Heartbreak Hotel” at age nine. He cut his first recording at 17 singing with a band called "The Confidentials". His career ramped up after he relocated to New York City and joined the punk band "Tuff Darts". In (1977), Gordon cut his debut “solo” album, "Robert Gordon With Link Wray", and several others, including work with Presley’s famed background singers "The Jordanaires" and Bruce Springsteen, who played on Gordon’s rendition of the Springsteen-penned track “Fire”. In (1979), Gordon released "Rock Billy Boogie", which peaked at (#106) on the Billboard 200. That was quickly followed by "Bad Boy" (1980) and "Are You Gonna Be The One" (1981), which included the single “Someday, Someway,” which peaked at (#76) on the Billboard Hot 100. In (1982), Gordon ventured into acting, co-starring in outlaw biker flick "The Loveless" opposite Willem Dafoe.
