Upon completion of the Phlebotomy Program the student will be able to perform venipuncture accurately with little or no discomfort to the patient. Graduates will understand the guideline for handling and transporting various specimens to the Laboratory. Along with the above skills the graduate will be able to handle front office responsibilities, input laboratory requests into the computer database, and to also download and print out lab results. They will also be able to do patient intake processes including medical history information and assist the physician in basic bedside laboratory testing.
