The Iran hostage crisis began on (Nov. 4, 1979), when (66) Americans, including diplomats and other civilian personnel, were taken hostage at the United States Embassy, in Tehran - with (52) of them being held until (Jan. 20, 1981).
Upon completion of negotiations - signified by the signing of the "Algiers Accords" on (Jan. 19, 1981) - the (52) American hostages were released the next day - just minutes after Ronald Reagan was sworn in as president and during the time that he was giving his inaugural address!
