Rare 10 piece hand carved folk art orchestra, called "Male Female Band" unsigned, by John Vivolo, Hartford Ct, 1886-1987. His work is in the Smithsonian and other collections. Circa 1970. These are huge pieces, approx 18-22" high, very heavy and hand painted. Very rustic. Comes with the book about the artist "Violo and His Wooden Children" by Ken Laffal. Some damage, with a few arms having cracks and one instrument (horn) broken off the musician's mouth (can be glued); some glue and paint will fix it.
