This Outing Portable Suitcase Phonograph is made from mahogany wood, the most popular wood for furniture during the 1920's. The Heineman brand motor is also typical for most "off-brand" phonographs during this time. The Outing case was built by the company that had previously manufactured furniture in Mt Kisco, NY. They were out of the phonograph business by the end of the 1920's. This portable unit is a bit unusual in that this has a 12" turntable, while most others (including Victor machines), used 10" turntables for portable machines.
