Looking online, normally would rent for $3400 -$4500+. I've discounted it for two reasons. First, my father who is a widowed retired senior citizen may bounce between staying in the basement and a vacation home, months on end. Secondly, I honestly and truthfully do not want to be bothered outside of safety emergencies, so I'm looking for a respectful tenant who also doesn't want to be bothered and isn't lazy (you have to cut the grass and shovel snow on your own). Savings would be $40k+ over 4-5 years, enough for a down payment on your own home or your own rental.
