Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Minimum 5 years of tax preparation and review experience
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, including ability to perform a tax closing
• CPA credential preferred but not required
Core Competencies
• Preparation and review of business, individual, trust, and estate tax returns
• Strong understanding of accounting concepts and year-end closings
• Advanced proficiency in CCH Axcess Tax
• Strong QuickBooks skills (accounting—not bookkeeping level)
• Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency
• Up-to-date knowledge of federal and state tax laws and planning strategies
Responsibilities
• Prepare and review complex business and personal tax returns with accuracy and efficiency
• Perform tax closings and maintain accounting records for tax readiness
• Collaborate with team members to meet project timelines and client deliverables
• Identify tax planning opportunities and ensure compliance with applicable laws
