(from an e-mail) "I think taking these lessons was one of the best decisions in my life. I can't say it any more plainly than that. You helped me progress so much. I dont really feel like I've had any plateau at all since we started" G.O.
"Bil is a gifted guitar teacher. My focus has been on classical guitar playing, and Bil's lessons, encompassing new music, music theory and composition, have been challenging, stimulating and fun." R.K.
"Bil has helped to change me from a complete beginner to a decent guitar player in a year. He's helped me tremendously with both technical skills and theory and has been a great help in writing my own music. He's an amazing teacher" P.C.
"I've taken lessons for a long time. I've learned that there are many great guitar players out there but very few guitar players who can teach. I have found this to be the greatest truth in my journey to learn how to play guitar. I wasted so much time learning things from the wrong teachers - I definitely wish I had that time back now. Bil knows how to teach and can change his teaching style if you are having trouble understanding a specific concept or technique. Secondly, he has a plan for getting you to be the player you want to be.You can see the progression of the plan and can see an end in sight. The biggest surprise to me is how quickly my playing has improved over a short time. I have made more progress in the past year then my previous 4 years combined. I would highly recommend Bilgehan to anyone and wish I had found him earlier" M.F.
(from an e-mail) "The lessons with you have been fantastic. I tell everyone now that I never realized how bad I was until I started instruction with you. My confidence level has risen dramatically and I know I am much better than before. When I think of where I have come in 5 months time, it is remarkable. I learned more in these 5 months then I did in 5 years of me "teaching myself." Never again will I fall into that pitfall. A very big THANK YOU for the lessons!" S.F.
"After playing guitar for two years, I reached a point where I was not improving as fast as I would have liked. I decided to take lessons from Bilgehan after being referred to him. I was only able to take six lessons from him as I had to move . However, I improved more in six weeks working with Bil than I had in the past six months trying to learn on my own. I would highly recommend him for anyone, especially if you need to break out of a rut" C.G.
"I've always had an interest in learning to play the acoustic guitar. After our first lesson, I new that he was the right teacher for me. He was enthusiastic and passionate about teaching. He has many years of experience and can work well with anyone, whether they start as a beginner (like me) or at a more advanced level. What I liked most about the lessons was that Bil was flexible. We went over the basics of chords, notes, and theory, but always had time each lesson to learn a couple of new songs that I had picked out. In the beginning, I didn't even know how to hold the guitar properly or take care of it (for example, changing strings). Now, only 8 months later, I can play a variety of songs as well as impress all my friends!" R.D.C.
"Bil is a great guitar teacher. A year ago I was playing music, recording and playing mostly by ear in bands. Today I have a better sense of what to do musically and technically therby being able to communicate to my band members. He has great patience and works at developing your ability to play and enjoy the guitar. He's got it and inspires you to want to do it professionally." D.C
(from and e-mail) "Bil, Where to begin? You have changed my life. As you know, when I studied guitar the first time, with another teacher, I didn't really learn anything. Despite almost a year of lessons, when I came to you I was horrible. I was very discouraged and had no confidence that I would ever be any good. But guitar is very important to me, so I decided to try again. Here we are, eight months later, and I think I am a pretty decent guitar player already! Don't you agree? :) I have learned so much from you in such a short period of time. It is absolutely amazing. You are so thorough -- you help me learn to play and sing the songs I like (in a progression that fits my ability) and you also cover all the bases (sorry, that is a baseball analogy) with ear training, rhythm, and theory. But even more importantly, you are a wonderful teacher. In fact you are the best teacher I've ever known, in any subject. I can tell you have a long-term plan, and on a day-to-day basis you have such a talent for breaking problems down into manageable pieces. If I get frustrated, you try something slightly different or back up a small step, but you make me stick with it. You don't let me give up. You are so patient in working through problems and also quite aggressive in pushing me to learn. This is a truly magic combination. In eight months I've gone from feeling I would never be any good to knowing that I will be a GREAT guitar player someday!" G.G.
"I had been trying to teach myself how to play guitar for about seven months before I started taking lessons with Bilgehan. After the first few lessons with him I had improved more than I had in the previous seven months of playing. Now I am playing better than I ever thought I could in such a short period of time" "B.H
(from and e-mail) "Hello Bil! Hope you remember me. I just want to say hello and see how you are doing. After I moved I went to WV and I'm still here in WV. I started taking guitar lessons again last week but gotto say I miss taking lessons with you. You were excellent Bil. Take care and keep up with good work. Peace!" H.J
"After a year studying with him, it's obvious Bil is not just a brilliant musician; he's also a brilliant teacher (frankly, a fairly unique combination)" P.K.
"Sincerely, Bil is the best teacher I've had. I've been to Berklee and graduated but afterwards I still felt lost. Bil took what seemed impossible at Berklee and pointed out certain areas I needed to work on- just a few things and it brought everything together for me. I now play with confidence and I ROCK! Give Bil a shot- you will not be disappointed" Chip Los Alamos :)" a week later, (from an e-mail) "Hey B, I auditioned and I am in the band!" C.W.
