To the Savior it Concerns,
I am desperately trying to place my dog in a loving and permanent home. She is my brother's dog but he is currently unable to take care of her so she's been with my family for the past two months and is more wonderful with each day that passes. He adopted her from a shelter in PA, and I brought her back there (under terms in the contract signed) because I was under the impression that it was a no-kill shelter, which it wasn't. Upon hearing that she would be euthanized, I immediately took her back to my house so I could find a home for her. Having adopted a dog myself I took these rules seriously and when I asked the shelter about placing their dog in a no-kill shelter, they carelessly and unprofessionally shrugged the rules off and obnoxiously said, "good luck." We currently have six dogs and am not able to give her the treatment she deserves. Her name is Chili, and she is an extremely affectionate one year-old pit bull with a red coat and beautiful green eyes and gets along great with children and adults-after initial meet and greet. Because of the situation she is in she is anxious and somewhat nervous but shows NO signs of aggression. When I introduce her to people she is shy and takes her own time to warm up to them. This has been a difficult and heart-breaking process because she is a total sweetheart and just needs more affection and attention. She loves attention from anyone but does not like cats or small dogs so we will ONLY adopt her out under the circumstance that she be the ONLY PET in a household. My family and I are are trying as hard as we can to find her the right person/ or family, so if you are interested please respond and we will need to conduct a brief background check, check references and sign a contract that we will discuss. She is a wonderful dog and deserves only the best, hopefully you can help us...

There is an overcrowding situation that has presented itself locally and my group needs help. Currently, George is in a kennel, but it is becoming cost prohibitive for us to keep him there.

George is UTD with shots and will be fixed upon foster or adoption. George does get along with other dogs, but he doesn't like sharing his toys. While walking him in the Downtown section of Jersey City last week, George made quite a splash literally. There was an open hydrant and George seemed to enjoy the water very much. People stopped and were glad to pet such a sweet dog.

George is also available for adoption. What better way is there to find out if George is a good match for you than having him live with you for a little while?

HELPFUL FOSTER INFO: Think you "might" be ready for a commitment, but are a bit apprehensive? Fostering also allows you to gauge whether or not you can make a permanent commitment for a companion animal.

Perhaps, you want a dog that doesn't bark much or one that is energetic. Either way, you can foster an animal that fits your lifestyle. It's a WIN WIN situation.

Fostering allows you to network for prospective owners on craigslist, blogs, or other websites. You can take photos and post them or walk your foster dog in the park. You'd be surprised how many people will try to help you find a home for the pooch. The dog runs are a great place to network.

Fostering gives you the chance to post a genuine account of the animal that you are saving.

Fostering gives a dog or cat a second chance at life.

Fostering a dog or cat is a wonderful, life-affirming project for the entire family (although singles and couples can foster, too, of course).

The great thing about fostering is that you can ask for an animal that fits your lifestyle.

If you live in an apartment, you can ask for or an older animal who is low energy or a dog in medical recovery who needs to be kept quiet.

Fostering can be done anywhere--in a city or suburb, a house or apartment.

Fostering a dog can take place whenever you are ready.

Fostering a dog or cat offers the company of canines and felines to those unable to make a long-term commitment.

Foster - great young brindle pit bull - Grant - 11 months old (NNJ - JC - HOB)

There is an overcrowding situation that has presented itself locally and my group needs help. Although overcrowding is common and a sad result of many factors, this particular animal deserves special attention. Grant was at the now closed Hudson County SPCA.

These are dogs and cats that suffered in a facility that has been ordered shut down and are so close to finding homes after suffering so much. We have a foster, Grant, that would make an easy transition into another household. Currently, Grant is in a kennel on Staten Island, and it is becoming cost prohibitive to keep him there.

Grant is UTD with shots and will be neutered before being fostered or adopted. He is a "beefy" dog though he is not very tall. Grant is built like a little linebacker. He is still being trained, so if you have experience training a dog or want to further develop some of your skills, Grant would make a great assistant.

Grant does get along with other dogs, loves children, and playing in water.
